The Life Long Learning (LLL) lecture series has been developed by the European Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ESPEN) to improve nutrition knowledge in Europe and across the globe. We are pleased to present this workshop, in conjunction with SASPEN, focusing specifically on critical care.
You should consider attending this workshop if you are an intensivist, clinician or dietician working in critical care and are interested in ensuring that your knowledge on nutrition is current and up to date. This workshop consists of 4 modules that focus on energy status and metabolism of the ICU patient, refeeding syndrome in the ICU, protein catabolism and assessment of lean body mass, as well as effective administration of protein, information regarding fat and carbohydrate administration, and lastly on selecting the most appropriate feeding route for your patient. This is followed by a case study discussion.
Nutrition is increasingly acknowledged as being a powerful lever in improving patient outcome. It would be a great advantage if clinical teams (dieticians and clinicians) who work together attended this together.
